Car manufacturers cannot agree on a very simple plug design to charge batteries, there is no way they will develop a standard battery interface, shape and capacity to fit a variety of different vehicles.
Really, this whole electric car thing works best with driving to work, turning around and driving it home at the end of the day. Plug into the charger at home. Repeat as necessary. If this doesn't work for you, don't bother to buy an electric car. As for 350 mile trips. Rent. smile
