VW Tiguan 2.0 Tdi 4motion 2021

About 21,000 at this time (we drive quite a bit). And I never said there was a problem since the HT/HS of the 508 00 oil is adequate under most circumstances. But that’s not what I’m after, and there’s no downside to a somewhat higher HT/HS other than a slightly lower fuel economy that I’ll never see in real-world driving. A smallish 4-cylinder engine with a turbocharger isn’t an unreasonable application in which to use the 504 00.
I changed out the original fill at 1000 miles just to get the debris out of the engine. Refilled with 504. The first thing I noticed was the engine was a lot quieter. It stopped sounding like a sewing machine.

Not mine, it still sounds as though there is something wrong with it although there is not. The fuel injector system is far louder than any I've ever heard before.

The current EA888 3G isn't exactly the best sounding engine. My very first VW 2.0 TFSI
(EA113 Mk.5 GTI) has been much more pleasant. It still had a toothed belt instead of a
chain, thicker wall block and cast aluminum oil pan as well as less excessive fuel pressure.

Hi, I own the same vehicle as the one of the initial writer of this theme, a Tiguan Allspace 2.0 BiTDi (CUAA) 4MOTION and in the manual was stated that only VW 507 00 oil should be used in this engine.

I am using 5W-30 oil from day 1 (I live in a rather hot environment, Greece, where temperatures are between -10 C up to 42 C) and having tried so far the following:

Castrol Edge Professional 5W-30 LL
Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200
Ravenol VMP 5W-30 USVO

Last oil used in my car was Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 5W-30 LL, I have done only 2000 Km's so far with this oil and I have noticed lower oil temperature in comparison with all the other oils used.

Finally, here are the relevant oil specs written in the VW Tiguan owners manual.

"The engine oil VW 502 00 must be used if the fuel grade does not comply with EN 228"

sounds like a good enough reason to get M1 0w40 from Walmart.

Hi! I got an VW Tiguan 2.0 Tdi 4motion 2021 147kw (200hp). The manual does not say what oil to use. And I asked two different VW workshops about what oil to use, one said 0w-20 and the other 0w-30… what is correct?

Thanks for help!
The USA ALMOST got a tdi Tiguan but vw told employees it would be too difficult to add a def system to the vehicle. This was right around the dieselgate fiasco.

Tiguans have had DEF systems fitted for at least 10 years.

Edited to add fitment would be market dependent, my point was DEF was being used so no reason USA Tiguans couldn't have it other than VAG has gone from being massively pro diesel before the scandal to now being the polar opposite.
