What you said is exactly why I stick to LL01 instead of LL01 FE for my B58. Before this new formulation, LL01 FE was the version with lower Ca but because of API SP they also reduced the Zinc and phosphorus. Which I didn't like. LL01 FE is the recommended oil for B58. So now with this new formulation I kinda have the best of both worlds.

I don’t pretend to know much about the BMW, Benz, or Porsche certs. All I know is that regardless of marketing, I will NEVER put an oil that’s designated “fuel conserving” or “resource conserving” in my engines.

I’ve forgone all others to hitch my mechanical futures to the good folks at HPL. No reservations.

Hi all, I've sent my own sample of the BMW LL01 and confirm that they have changed their formulation. At least since the VOA list was updated.
