This is for a ram 5.9 v8. whenever it rains it doesn't like to rev the next morning. If i have the revs past about 2250 it stars stumbling. If i put the pedal to the floor and it will shake real bad and have low power and the check engine light flashes until it warms up. Only does this when it has rained and when cold. What could be the problem

Plugs, wires, cap and rotor if applicable. The worn ignition components are "leaking" high voltage when damp.

Im not sure if any other ignition components are old but i know the plugs and wires are only about 15000 miles old. Truck only has 79000 on it

check the seal around the top of the hood. it could be letting water drip on ignition parts.

an f150 i had had a torn seal at the top of the hood and water would drain it and drip onto the engine right on top of a coil and seep down into the plug hole causing misfires.

Age doesn't matter much to ignition parts, if they're new and junk they're still junk. My dodge 3.9 V6 suffered like this.

Crank it up at night in a dark place to see if you can see any cross firing. Sometimes, (but not all the time), if it's jumping spark, you'll be able to see it in the dark.

and add a bit of water via a spray bottle to help find arcs, too.

I agree with what default said. Of course, I'm a bigot and every time I see a Dodge with badging indicating it has a 5.9 I assume it needs a new distributor cap and a left front brake hose.

get a spray bottle and spray the cap and wires with water. you'll likely see it stumble and leaking ignition voltage.

Haha, only have one car left in a pretty large group that still has a distributor!

Wet weather always brings out the worst in an older vehicle especially with high miles.

I was having an issue like this a couple years ago on a recently bought car. Problem turned out to be the cap and rotor. Mine was a severe case though - the cap turned out not to be secured correctly, and the rotor had been wrecked banging against the terminals. It still ran, but not after recent rain.
Same thing can happen without the physical damage though.

You could experiment with getting the cap wet to hopefully recreate the issue. Then try taking off the cap and drying it out. After that it should be clear if this is the problem.
