I don't much care for the sedan version of these big RWD GMs, but for whatever reason have a soft spot for the wagons.

I love that Vista-Cruiser roof - it reminds me of a railway dome car.

I worked with a guy that had one. His had a 305 CU motor I think and an unusual storage compartment in the far rear that looked like it could be used for a live well.

I think they had a 350 small block available in those roadmasters too and it was about the same as the old Chevy Impala SS engines. Cool car for sure and it would look great with some Cragar SS wheels and white letter tires. Lift it up in the back....where do you stop? Pretty soon you have a show car. Very good bones for sure.

They had that back into the 70s. My dad had a 79 impala wagon when I was a kid. We loved riding in the rear facing seat.

That era Chevy sedan had the largest trunk ever. The Oldsmobile 98 had a clipped trunk....probably for a sporty look.

A neighbor had a '96 (I think) Chevy Caprice Classic with every option except leather.
I was tasked with selling it and learned that the Crown Vic / MGM mojo didn't rub off on the 'bar of soap' Chevy.
A bloke whose older Caprice was stolen answered the add.
That dopey car had "Optispark", the stupid, electronic octopus mounted behind the water pump.
Smart move GM (sarc.).

I worked in a Chev/Olds small town dealer in high school early 90's. I would guess they sold several hundred cars/trucks a year +/- - we sold 8-10 a week, I had to wash them :) I remember seeing exactly 1 of these come in for service regularly. It was quite the oddity - even back then.
