Considering downsizing from F150

BMW X5? Their mid sized offerings imo are worlds nicer than their smaller options and it can still tow a good amount of you find the need arises.

These are sedans. They have some ground clearance, you sit upright, with enough trunk space to transport Jimmy Hoffa.

The stuff they call Sedans now are go carts with a roof.

Yea.... 2- 1/2 tons of American ingenuity.....you believe that I have swap land in West Texas to sell you....

The vehicle market is crashing...pre-2019 prices FAST. around here...it is 14k off sticker on GM, Ram and Furd. $3k running beaters

Yeah. I looked up mine and was shocked.

In stock terms, the wise move is to hold for now.

I grew up bouncing around the backseat of one like the light blue ford LTD . Got about 18mpg.

I like west Texas - nice and quiet. Link to land for sale? :ROFLMAO:

This guy is trying to terraform the west texas desert.

Keep the F-150 as it sucks not having a truck and get a beater car. Something cheap and definitely asian and made before 2019.
Do not trade, if you must sell it do a private sale. The dealer will pretend like your truck is a worthless beater and try to give you $3,000 then turn around and sell it as a prestine grocery getter truck that was only driven to church on Sundays by an old lady, never used to tow anything and ask for $11,000 it.

Maybe try a Outback? Tows enough, gets pretty good hwy mileage, good hwy cruiser with the 17" wheels. The new ones still have a big dumb screen for most HVAC but maybe you don't mind? I average 28mpg overall and for just hwy it gets into the low 30's pretty easily.
Anyways we have 100k on ours and no mechanical issues except a sway bar link is a bit loose, and the rear shocks have always been soft and now are a bit too soft.

The spread between wholesale and retail is not $8,000.00 in this case. But yea- you have to do your homework. I hear what you are saying.

Usually not, but it's $2,000 to $4,000 more in your pocket. That's almost half a lifetime worth of amsoil products.

VW Atlas?

Audi Q5?

MB GLC or GLE?

Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I'd leave the Korean twins last, and avoid if I could help it.

Any of the above could tow respectably if needed, and would be comfortable, safe long-distance cruisers.

Rav4H. My wife’s RAV4 H is an excellent vehicle and tbh is a top contender. The tow rating is 1750 and I would need a trailer if we sell the pickup. The gas models can pull 3000, but crawl under this thing and it looks like all front/rear subframes are barely tacked on to the unibody structure.

Ive towed well into 2,000lbs in Motorcycles with my 2020 Rav4h. Its limitations are brakes more than power or stability. Though ive taken it loaded up some seriously steep passes.

I would also have a hard time picking a new vehicle, so I tend to find older cars I like and hang on to them.

I'm not sure why I'm so picky when it comes to new vehicles, but I think it's a combination of the ugly styling, the awful driving dynamics, and the tech. Working in the tech field I'm very unimpressed by poorly executed user interfaces. I've driven cars that looked decent and/or drove well but was put off by the horribly inconsistent or annoyingly integrated tech. A lot of it is downright distracting while you are driving. The fact that some manufacturers are getting rid of Carplay for their own systems they think are better is pretty comical. At this point Carplay is probably the only one I'd consider, and some manufacturers do it better than others.
