Valvoline Restore & Protect

You have to believe Castrol , Mobil and SOPUS are watching the promotion and acceptance of Valvoline Restore and Protect … Perhaps taking notice of what Valvoline is doing will result in those other oil companies stepping up R&D efforts to offer similar ?

I wonder if M1 Triple Action was the start? It also says it helps remove sludge in just one oil change. We haven't seen as much enthusiasm as with VRP. When the new M1 formula came out there was lack of enthusiasm due to the pour point being higher and the perceived lack of PAO made it an inferior product.

Sludge and piston deposits are very different.

This oil is selling like hotcakes, I was at an Autozone dumping my 16 quart container of used oil. On entering the backroom I saw over a dozen of used empty VRP jugs over one of the oil dump steel containers. Should have taken a photo.

It has been sold out at the three Walmart's near me the last couple times I checked, so I had to resort to Autozone to purchase an extra quart.

I felt those joking about clearance sale overlooked that it was normally priced unlike M1AP and VME ...
You just won't move $50/jug oil from Walmart or the part stores ... Allot of online shoppers in that space ...

Has the HTHS of Restore & Protect 5W30 been made available ? … Anything over 3.0 would be a bonus .

With Restore & Protect’s cleaning ability and their 5W30 version having a HTHS of 3.24 may sway some non - Euro vehicle owners from trying Mobil or SOPUS Euro approved oils .

Mobil, SOPUS and BP do way, way more R&D than Valvoline already.

ExxonMobil for instance is a vertically integrated company. ExxonMobil and Shell jointly own one of the four majority additive companies. ExxonMobil and Shell are two of a small number of companies that actually produce base oil. Valvoline is a customer of these companies, not an R&D powerhouse.

Not sure I get your point? Valvoline's new R&P could still be a unique oil.
