Go with Valvoline Restore and Protect's Big Brother, Valvoline Premium Blue Restore 10W-30! Gen 1 or Gen 2!Is anyone going off the rez and using Valvoline Restore and Protect in their small engine application? 5W30 is the heaviest weight I have seen though. TIA.
No, but I thought about it. In fact, I was actually considering using it in a 2 cycle application. Is anyone going off the rez and using Valvoline Restore and Protect in their small engine application? 5W30 is the heaviest weight I have seen though. TIA.

EC40Does the EC come in straight 40W? I know I've used EC30 in the past in liquid cooled engines, but didn't know if they make heavier wt or not.

There is a Buddy of yours, well another Member in Texas that can help you out. I can help you out and give you the info if you are interested? From where?
I would suggest going back and reading through all the Restore & Protect threads. Your questions have been asked and answered several times. Valvoline says you can use it from day one as your forever oil. That is what the protect part is.I get it.... Valvoline Restore and Protect is recommended to renew engines that may have internal carbon and varnish accumulations. My conclusion is, therefore, that Valvoline Restore and Protect emphasizes cleaning and is a result does not emphasize lubrication. For the same reason it is not recommended to run high mileage motor oil unless your seals need swelling, Restore and Protect should not be run if there is no problem being addressed?
If Valvoline Restore and Protect is not indicated, perhaps a synthetic with less emphasis on cleaning would focus on lubrication? I am not implying that Valvoline Restore and Protect is deficient as a lubrication, I am saying why use it if cleaning is not needed?
Said another way, I don't use cough syrup unless I have a cough.
There is already Valvoline Restore and Protect in 10W-40 grade for motorcycles. Not sure if it's available for sale in stores or online. Is anyone going off the rez and using Valvoline Restore and Protect in their small engine application? 5W30 is the heaviest weight I have seen though. TIA.
Thanks! I'll keep a look out for that. I'd assume it'd work fine in an air cooled small engine. If I'm incorrect, someone PLEASE lmk. There is already Valvoline Restore and Protect in 10W-40 grade for motorcycles. Not sure if it's available for sale in stores or online.

For some reason the link doesn't work anymore. And also I cannot find the motorcycle oil anymore when I look at Valvoline Restore and Protect products. It shows only motor oils and ATFs.Having trouble with that link, says not found. However the link to the "oil properties" does work.
Same here, except I use 10w40 conventional or synthetic, whichever is cheaper when my OPE oil stash runs low. Been doing it for decades. No problems with the engines. 4 old flat head Briggs & Scrapem push mowers, 1- 15.5 hp Briggs & Scrapem OHV on a riding mower, and 1 old flathead Tecumseh on a snow blower.Nah. Change when it gets dirty and not lighter than a 10-30 on my end.
