I got lucky. My local NAPA store still had the MST Dexos2 approved stuff and it was one of the monthly specials. Around $5.50/qt. But I guess going forward it's done.

Supposedly, Havoline Pro DS Euro 5w-40 is available to order from NAPA. Maybe it will be a monthly special. Have to keep an eye out.

Amalie has a Dexos2 5w-40 available thru Amazon, but it's around $8.00/qt.

Anybody know of any other Dexos2 5w-40's that are still available?

The oil shown is great oil for gas engines, not for diesels. It was packaged in the wrong box for sure but something else isn't kosher here.

Valvoline said MST is being "replaced" with European vehicle. It seems like valvoline is hoping no one will read the bottles

Hmm didn't catch that. Maybe they are using up old boxes? The box does have 2017 on it, while the bottles have 2019. Wonder if valvoline is in financial trouble? A real penny pinching move here.

I emailed them, yes. MST is being replaced by European Formula. even though they still sell it as MST, in MST boxes, and if you dont read the bottle you wont know that it may no longer meet the requirements of your vehicle.

Well firs of all, it does not say MST. I am not sure how it is "replacing" MST as it is aimed at different market. So basically they are introducing full-SAPS 5W40 and taking out Mid-SAPS. Interesting decision.

The box does, Napa still sells it as MST. But, yes. Valvoline is releasing a full saps oil and removing their mid saps oil

Does not matter what box says. It is full-SAPS oil.
Decision is basically to abandon Dexos2 oil market. It just does not make sense.

The European 5w-40 at WalMart is still C3 and Dexos2 approval on the back label. Top of back label has "Valvoline Full Synthetic MST 5W-40".

It appears the 5w-30 will be high saps, and the 5w-40 is mid-saps.

Should be. Bought it at Napa like in January or February of this year.

Does the year make a difference?

Thanks

Seems like all of the current batches are not labeled MST anylonger

It's not MST. It's not even ACEA C3 as per the label. It was my go to oil for my Duramax Colorado, being Dexos2.

Valvoline really screwed the pooch on this one.
