Here is a not pretty Valvoline V0-98 filter out of a 2015 Buick Encore, 1.4 engine. 6,600 miles or so and done last at NY dealership according to sticker. BUICK dealer I should say. Oil was "DEXOS 5w30 blend". Didn't know dealership uses Valvoline filters; now I do. What do you folks think. There was a small hole at bottom of filter also. I was busy at work so didn't get pic of that. Enjoy

Filter looked exactly as it does here when I did the oil change. Put in Valvoline 5w30 and a WIX. (Don't remember part # offhand)

It looks like it was installed incorrectly, not sure how a filter could get crushed like that. Maybe it was crushed in the box and some moron used it?

Doesn't look good ... sure that's the right filter for that engine? It seems way too long for the housing.

If it is the right application, then the design length needs to be looked and and tweaked.

No idea sir. I called the dealership and they said they use these filters sometimes also. Interesting. Vehicle has 12k on it at moment

Zee0six: it's EXACT same height as the wix I installed. For reference; its CHAMP LABS # would be a P-981, I looked it up and Valvoline # is V0-98

Gang and Wemay: I have a V0-25(crosses to a FRAM #3614) off a 2015 Exo Boost Escape with the 2.0 to hack open tomorrow. It's the white with navy blue "V" logo. Stay tuned in as it will be a filter Chopin Froday and Saturday afternoon after I donate platelets

I think maybe the dealer didn't install it right, too much force or too little pushing it in place, and don't give a hoot either way.
