Upgrading Honda CR-V Battery

Thanks but nowhere near any deity status. More like Water Boy….Momma Says.
You're very modest. You're knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. My deity comment was just a joke. You are awesome though!
I’m pretty good at searching and learning everywhere and then being able to recall and share. I have my own experiences over the years, things I did wrong, do as I say not as I do. Experience is great as it lets you recognize what you screwed up when you do it again.
Ya. Hopefully we will learn and know what we need to know before we're too old to fully benefit from it.
I’m same name on at least a dozen forums. Some with very minimal posts but signed up for reading and some questions/help needed. When I have issues with my vehicles I get more active on them as I’ll share what I know while searching for other stuff. I was brought up helping others, learning from and teaching at same time.
👍 😃
Currently BITOG, DriveAccord, Piloteers are my main ones. CRV Owners Club some, Hyundai-Forums, Forte-Forums, JeepRenegadeForum at times depending issues. BITOG is my main because of many like minded DIY members, good moderators, broad variety of things that are also my interests.

I think original checking if it was @Carlostrece was from writing but also the same avatar at the time of the land yacht Buick Or Town Car
I've never used an avatar at crvownersclub.com. You must have recognized my content and writing style.

I use a different screen name at every forum for security reasons. 15 years ago I had a few online stalkers who were a clique at one forum who began stalking me at all forums that I belonged to. At that time I used the same screen name at all the forums I belonged to. So it was easy for them to Google my screen name to find me at all forums. There was no forum online where I could go in peace.

Then they also tried to take it offline. The ring leader of that gang of thugs was the owner and supermoderator of the forum where my problems began. He doxed me and asked if any of his forum's members lived near me and would be willing to "visit" me at my home.

It eventually got peacefully resolved, but for a couple months I was using my CCW and carrying my pistol just in case. I already had a CCW, but I'd never used it to carry before that. Under normal circumstances I don't like to carry a gun.

Everything has been fine for the 15 years since then, but it taught me that it's a good idea to use a different screen name at every forum. Also, think twice about what personal info you enter into any forum's signup form or your profile (even the stuff only a supermod could see).

I like and trust @wwillson and the other mods at BITOG, but I do not assume that all moderators, supermods, or forum owners are trustworthy at every forum.

Am I paranoid? Maybe a little, but it's justifiable after I went through the grinder. As Bill Gates famously said, only the paranoid survive.

I could have said the above in a PM, but I publicly posted it because it's a cautionary tale that might be beneficial for those who read it. This forum feels safe, but not all forums are safe.

I did the upgrade 3 years ago on my 2016 CRV EX.

I went with a Walmart MAXX 24F that rated 725 CCA and tested 1117 CCA in store. It is their 3 year battery and cost $10.00 less than a MAXX 51R.

I bought it on Sept 11, 2022 and on January 3, 2026 it tested 888 CCA when at 29.5 F and sat for one day.

Wow. You should have easy starts in the artic! Especially if you also upgraded to thicker battery cables.

Honda CRV bigger battery upgrade to 24F battery... i.e. - the OP.

My cousin made a new hold-down bar that fits the 24F battery and Honda CRV body/frame. Described as follows.

He used a 2 inch wide stainless steel flatbar cut to proper length and used a grinder to do a bit of shaping/sculpting. He resused the original short bolt on body end. He was able to reuse the original J-bolt because he put ½ step down bends on the end of bar that uses the J-bolt. There was no need to paint the new hold-down bar because it's stainless steel.
