Hey guys.

This is my first ever UOA. The car is a 96 Thunderbird LX, with a 99 GT Mustang 4.6 motor, and vortech supercharger and Bullitt intake.

I bought the car turn key, and did not know the oil use interval. The car sat for a year with the same oil, then I got it hot and changed it right away with a new motorcraft filter.

The oil in the sample is 10w30 mobil1 as I was told. I replaced the oil with 4.5 quarts of 10w30 mobil1 and 1 quart of 15w50 mobil1.

I will probably change the oil at 2500 miles, the car only will see about 5k this year.

Classic M1 10W-30 signature. Obviously fuel and condensation didn't get burned off. Looks good.

Don't forget the air filter!! Silicon seems a little high.

Well, the car is running a little rich right now, I think thats the fuel deal. It is tuned a little rich so that I don't blow it up with the blower.

I might have it leaned out a little bit.

The air filter is this K&N filter that is a cone in the fenderwall. I am going to get rid of it, but I need to find a paper cone.

JustinH , Does the air intake suck the hot air from the engine compartment? Maybe more fuel is as you added, due to the supercharger. It is a hotrod is it not?

You can see the intake, the cold air is sucked from the fenderwall, and is blown through the supercharger into the intake.

The cone is shielded from hot underhood air so it is sucking the coldest air possible.

I think the dirty K&N filter is the problem. I have had troubles finding a paper cone based on the size of the cone I have now.

The car only gets driven on the weekends or when it is sunny outside, it only sees about 5,000 miles a year anyway.
