Why?

Without digging into specific specs, let me say this. The pinnacle of quality in engine oils typically comes down to oils formulated for long-drain intervals and oils formulated for professional race teams. You don't see GTL usage in either of these areas and for good reason. GTL is just group III with the downsides of group IV.
Doesn't Shell claim that their Helix Ferrari F1 oil is GTL based? I've also seen that Penske racing claims that they use off the shelf Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in their Indycar teams. Are these just marketing claims?

$29 and change at Walmart if you can find it.
It is $27.67 now. Oil war going on between Amazon and Walmart

It's called regional pricing ... And it's not a new thing. All national retailers practice it.
The 3 pack Amazon price matching from Walmart must be regional too. I have ordered 3 cases already lol. Third party reseller is asking $145 right mow.

Regional pricing affects all manner of products and services. Doesn't really matter if it's local stores or online retailers. The larger the company, the greater the disparity in pricing by region. It can even affect availability as well.

This also applies to vehicle sales. Many years ago, my dad worked in corporate Ford sales (like large leasing accounts, etc; not dealer local sales). There are even regional sales incentives by all the OEs for various vehicles, especially slow sellers.

As another example, I had a HS acquaintance whose family owned a large regional appliance chain (now defunct; H.H.Gregg). Pricing of appliances is regional, as are the incentives. The same Whirlpool washer or dryer isn't going to be the same price, depending on the region of the country it's sold in.

I was recently in a Costco in central AZ; they had some of my favorite bourbon on sale there (Bakers 107 single bbl). I called my daughter and told her to check the Costco in her area in the Midwest; they didn't even have it available there by her, and she checked a couple locations she's near.

Bottom Line ...
PRICING, AVAILABILITY AND SHIPPING ARE VERY OFTEN DICTATED BY REGIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGNS.

I even see regional pricing at McDonald’s! In my area a large iced coffee is $2.79 but in Niagara on the Lake (which is very affluent and is also a tourist destination) it’s $3.99. Many other menu items are like that as well.

Must have confidence in their P.U.P. 0w-20 . Wonder if this could been used in the 1.8 Ltr. ( G.D.I. ) of the Hyundai Accent that called for 5w-20 . The picture is from the P.U.P. 0w-20 purchased a month or 2 ago .
