Good Monday folks,

In February, we will be taking a trip to New Holland, PA to visit some friends for the weekend. Google Maps shows two main routes to take.

-219 down to 80 through State College and Harrisburg
-39 to the 390 to 86 through Corning then 15 through Williamsport

I'm thinking 219 would be a bit hillier and a lot of two lane, small town, 35mph versus 15. Any recommendations? I'm coming from Eden, NY. Thanks.

You could also go 90 east to Syracuse and then head south from there, if you prefer the interstate. It only add about 20 minutes.

Click your route and drag it to I-90 just north of Batavia and it will show you that route.

Where in WNY are you starting?

I regularly drive from Baltimore area to Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany.

Both routes are about the same timewise (219 route is 5 or 6 minutes quicker); and they both have you connecting to Route 283 near Harrisburg, which is good since it feeds you right into Lancaster County.

I would let weather and time of day dictate which route to use. I prefer highways if weather is in question or if I have to travel at night. I would choose the second route and go through Williamsport.

Id also recommend this route

15 is pretty much a highway. There are portions that are 65 and other portions that go through a town, but is still a good flowing road.
