Traveling and can't always fill up with Top Tier Fuel

I used to buy Top Tier - when most gas stations here were Top Tier, it was easy.

Then Superamerica changed to Speedway - no more Top Tier.
Kwik Trop dropped Top Tier fuels during the pandemic.
Holiday stopped being Top Tier after their purchase by Circle K and Kwik Trip dropping it.

Those 3 are the dominant gas retailers in the Twin Cities. So I stopped looking for it. And the world has not ended...

For me I think I would just carry some Techron with me and add some every few tanks to compensate. I have direct injection so more concerned about keeping injectors clean.

BTW I just did the math and using Premium (93 octane) Top Tier costs around $10 more per tank than 87 at the same pump. Really makes you think about whether or not it's worth it if 87 octane will do.

Buy a few bottles of Super Tech Fuel System Cleaner (6 oz. silver bottle) from WM for $2.17 ea. It’s decent stuff and inexpensive enough to throw a few bottles in the trunk for a long drive and my vehicles have responded well using it for that purpose and you can use it in every tank if you like . Lastly , be sure to read the bottle label carefully as Super Tech also makes a Fuel Injector Cleaner - you want the better Super Tech Fuel System Cleaner .

I get the cheapest gas I can from a busy station and then run a can of BG 44K through once a year. Fuel dilution in my truck remains less than 1% on annual OCIs.
