If the delta cost was acceptable I'd switch for a new Chevy Bolt. Simply because an EV would suit our suburban lifestyle very well with all of our short tripping and short commutes to work. We would always have my wifes car for longer trips if needed.

Once I can get 500 miles in range when the temp is -20F and going 80mph into a 25 mph headwind, then maybe. Where I live this is a realistic scenario...right now they only make sense for Californians stuck in stop and go traffic. I would also require 240v in my garage.

If I ever make the big bucks and buy a home I will probably also buy an EV but I’d always keep a secondary ICE vehicle around. I’d probably pair the Lightning with an Explorer.

and recharge it in 5 minutes without shortening battery life. Then maybe. But I just love the feeling and sound of ICE.
