Looking for good advice. Currently drive a 2014 tundra. 4x4. Sr5 with TRD package. 5.7 v8. Upgraded TRD wheels and BFG all terrains. 15000 miles on truck and near mint. At dealer other day. Salesman told me he would trade even on a 2016 tundra sr5. 5.7 v8 but 2wd. Same truck minus the front running gear.

OTD even or before everything added? MSRP yours vs the '16? MSRP difference of both trucks new in 2014 (price differential)? Trade in value of a 2wd vs 4wd locally? There's a $$ reason why they'd make that offer and it ain't in your favor. Sounds like you're trading a nicely equipped truck for a work truck. Do the math.

FWIW I have 2WD (with the locking rear) and seldom have the need for 4WD here in VA. I use my FWD Cruze for that or the Jeep. I would do the trade, as it looks as if you like the new truck better. You only live once and it's not costing you more money. A lot of people in FL are from up north and probably need the 4WD from time to time if they go back home in the winter. That's probably why there is the demand there. Either that or they transport them up north.

Keep the 4x4 it will always be worth more in any part of the country. The 4x4 also depreciates much slower compared to a 2wd.

Ford also offers a 36 gallon tank on the F150 as an option just like it is an option on the Tundra(26 gallon is standard). In fact Ford probably offered it sooner than Toyota did.
To the OP, I would not trade a 4x4 for a 2wd truck, even if I lived in Florida. I don't need 4wd very often here in VA but use it more for hunting, fishing on the coast and just in case. I would like the 36 gallon tank though and would have opted for it had it been an option on the 2011's.
The Tundras seem to hold their value pretty well. I was offered a very good trade in price on a left over 2015 Tundra Crew Max Limited. It was tempting but I enjoy not having a payment.

SR5 is a step down from TRD, but maybe it'll ride better, or take more narrow (cheaper?) tires. Not sure on what is different in options between 2014 TRD and 2016 SR5.
2WD ought to eek out a pinch more mpg, have more towing capacity. But it doesn't appear that you are racking up the miles either. I think you are better off keeping. The new truck will depreciate to a level below what yours is after a couple of years (2WD and SR5, it's a lesser model). Unless if you need a more compliant ride or better mpg or some option that the '16 has that your '14 doesn't, I think you wind up with less after this trade.

The 4x4 will retain its resale much better which is likely the reason in the first place this salesman is trying to make an "even trade." People want 4x4 pickups.
