When asked about the latter, they said they would change the oil, run a motor flush, then change the oil again. Is this a normal service for a Toyota at 200K, or is someone trying to pull a fast one?
At 200,000 miles I would do what was recommended by the dealer. Contrary to some of the posts here, an engine flush can be beneficial to a motor such as yours that lived on extended OCI’s.
Heck I did a flush with Liqui Moly that resulted in cleaner oil changes and a smoother running engine. I’m a 3,000 mile oil change guy and proud of it.
Very few dealer service centers and repair shops are out to rip customers off. It is the rare few that BITOG members are the most vocal about. Crooked shops don’t last long as there is so much competition to please the customer.
Congratulations on reaching 200k on your vehicle!
