Toilet mounting question

While you are at it you can also purchase metal kit - two half moon clips something like these that go around the plastic flange so the bolts will hold.

You may also want to use two wax seals or some of the newer options.
plastic is for kids toys not toilets. buy a couple of wax seals, you always return one. test with one seal tighten bolt slowly, this is a test fit , you be trying to rock the bowl. seems solid, know rocking at all, carefully tighten bolts. do not overtighten, you will compress the wax

The Mansfield ”comfort height” is the toilet is the toilet I’ve been fooling with. I replaced the “guts“ with the Fluidmaster PerforMax kit and that toilet would flush billiard balls now

Fluidmaster now has two different versions of the PerforMax now. That kit includes the 400AH. The newer version is called the 400H. It no longer uses the pinch roller, which I've found sometimes gets stuck in place and where it doesn't flow well any more. I installed (on a standard 400A) just the new tube with pinch roller a few years ago, and I found that it wasn't so great after a few years where it kind of closed a bit too much. I took it apart, squeezed the tube to get it back into shape, and then put it back together. It's working for now.

This is the newer part. I'm thinking of getting it just because I need some sort of project to do right now. It has a wider knob for the fill height adjustment. It uses a knob for the bowl fill adjustment rather than the pinch roller. It is kind of expensive though, but it's still a tiny cost compared to a toilet. I think it's worth it if the fill valve needs to be replaced. Still - some will recommend the Korky QuietFill Platinum which is the best comparison.
