Tire Siping

No offense taken - as I agreed that I can buy the snow traction improvement.

A word of caution: Don't confuse this aftermarket siping with siping in the mold as it comes from the tire manufacturer - 2 entirely different animals.

I've driven numerous vehicles for decades while living in Minn., Vt., and Mont. I've had all-season, AT, and snow tires on the vehicles at various times in the winters. Snow tires with sipes are, at least to me, indisputably the way to go. If you add studs, the traction's even better. I'm convinced that on hardpacked snow and ice the sipes increase traction, and the more sipes the better. I won't buy a snow tire unless it has at least 3 sipes, and preferably more, in each traction lug.
