Timing Belt Slipped-Engine Wrecked, Worth Saving?

hi newbie here but same thing happened to me cirrus has been in shop for a week now not sure how much its going to cost yet

i have one q my engine died on the hiway 65 doing 2500 rpms what the heck was the kid doing 3500 rpms

3.5k rpms is my crusing speed. My particular car gets up there quick, especially in 1st gear.

thats around 75 to 80 mph for me

3500 rpm = 80 highway speed. It's only about 15 in 1st.

well i guees im old and dont drive fast anymore

old lady says 80 is 3200 rpms

dont get me wrong this engine was pretty good gas milage was great had nice pep and the brakes are good
