Time to move on - Life Changes

VCM failures are mostly due to piss poor maintenance plain and simple. Don't agree move on.
I disagree. A lot of Gen 2 VCM engines that saw OEM service intervals experienced issues. This is how those engines typically looked if you change the oil using 0W20 when the MM shows 15% remaining. The engine oil pan on this one had darker varnish than the block and bits of sludge. This owner is on time with every oil change. Between Honda’s service recommendations and the inherent design issues, these engines were setup for failure and it was not the owner’s fault.

This is consistent with what @Trav has shared on here over the years. He found short-changing them with a Euro oil like M1 0W-40 was an effective method to avoid the manifestation of these issues, and could also be used as a treatment, IIRC, if they weren't "too far gone". I suspect Valvoline R&P would now also be an option.
