a few years back, my soon to be mother-in-law, was shopping for a newer car ( to replace her 200k+ mi '09 Imprezza wagon) , and since her Hubby is a Honda retiree, and they had their $$ at the Honda Credit Union, they had a Decent discount available if they went Honda...
she wanted a Truck. so she could do Truck things... she has a Pony at the other Daughter's house, (whose husband is a Cattleman), and has to go over 2x a day for "Chores", ie: feed, medicate, and clean up the muck...
they live "out in the Sticks" by Ohio Standards...(about 45 min drive in a couple directions to the nearest Cities with more than convenience stores and Dollar General) but I forget what she didn't like about the Ridgeline, but she bought a Pilot instead... you know, the Ridgeline with a 3rd row and no bed...(maybe she thought the ridgeline was a bit goofy looking? IDK, this happened before we started Dating)
that Pilot now has around 250k mi on it, and the Family in general likes it well enough My Soon to be Brother-in-law bought his wife ( my Fiancee's little sister) a '23 pilot for Christmas last year...
she did eventually end up with a truck, but they're having a hard time keeping it going.( as soon as they fix something, something else goes wrong... basic old car stuff) when she inherited HER mom's manual 1st gen Ranger, that had spent it's whole life until that point in Nebraska.
