2013 Ford Edge, stock battery, is a 65 series flooded I am thinking of going with an AGM, how would that affect my charging system, with the BSM? I do not have forescan to register the battery.

I trust this is not the original battery, but going to AGM will not matter one bit.
This thing goes through batteries about every 3 years!!!
I would go with an AGM since I have had great luck with them. The Ford Maverick forums all state the AGM starter batteries are much better than a standard battery. The only downfall is they cost more. I have an AGM in my Corvette and my F-150 and not sure what the Toyota and Maverick hybrids have for batteries. The AGM shouldn't have any adverse effects on your charging system or anything else on your vehicle for that matter.
My Brother's (Chevy) Volt had a Factory AGM.
My (Ford) C-Max hybrid has a standard Flooded Lead Acid.
Both under the Cargo area in the Back of the Cabin with a vent tube for the Vapors.

Living in Texas heat, when my 2020 Ram was 3.5 years old, I decided to replace the OEM battery with a new, higher capacity AGM, so picked one up at Walmart and installed it. The next day, we had a horrific hailstorm which totaled the truck. I don't know if it was the switch to AGM, buying from Walmart, or a combination of the two, but I'll never replace a battery before it's necessary.

Walmart sells group 65 AGM batteries at least where I live on East coast. Made by East Penn. I have two in my F250. Under $200. But I did have to go to two different Walmarts to get two.
I think the people who shop at Walmart are not very likely to spend the extra $$ on AGM.
Walmart typically only has a few group sizes in AGM.
If it's eating FLA's in 3 years, I would think the heat in South Carolina is getting to them IMO. I would try a Walmart AGM rather than changing the FLA's all the time. Heat and extreme cold are killers on FLA's. FLA's do well here in lower New York. We only get 1-2 months of extreme heat. I also use battery tenders on my FLA's due to parasitic draws. They usually last around 7 -8 years using good tenders. I use the NOCO 2 tenders.

Yeah, that could be part of you're problem, especially if the Edge sits a lot. I don't know if it does or not. Parasitic draws from the computers can easily kill off a battery. Can't hurt by trying the NOCO 5. Gave my mom a NOCO 2 for her Toyota Cross. She's 84, and the car sits in the garage most of the time. She only puts like 2K a year on it. It's a 2024 model, and so far, no dead battery from not being driven

.I think my best run on an AGM battery was ten years. I think I simply may have been lucky. If you are getting only three years on FLAs then it's a complete no brainer. The decision gets more complicated if you consistently get five years from your FLAs.

Go to a Walmart with an auto shop for installation. Buy the AGM with the most ccas 700+. 4-year warranty. Take a Bassmaster Magazine to read while they install the battery. Buy a $12 battery tester and check the battery at 3Years, 11 months, and 15 days. You can take it from there.

What about people on West Coast. What mfg will they get? Maybe they need to move to East coast?
Sams Club sells them.
More likely to find one there than Tiffany’s.

I replaced my 2010 ram 1500 agm battery with a Bosch. Few weeks later I have a white puddle under the truck and smelled like acid!
I said what is this, opened hood and a rat had jewed the corner of battery and destroyed the battery. No warranty LOL
Bought another and replaced again 3 years later with Napa clarion.
See how long this last. It’s always topped off once a month with charger.
