My isuzu rodeo has 181,180 miles on it now...
I bought it about 18 months ago with ~144,000 on it..
I have no idea what was used in it previously, or the oil change interval.
Since I have owned it, I have experimented with a veriety of weights and brands.
5w50 QS synthetic
10w30 QS syn blend(i think)
Penzoil 10w30 dino
Valvoline can't remember weight dino
GTX 10w30 and 10w40
delo 400
delvac 1300
supertech 5w30, 20w50, and 10w30 synthetic
GC 0w30
and probably a few others I can't remember
Not to mention, addatives/flushes I've tried out..
engine restore
gunk
golden eagle flush
rislone
STP
seafoam
VSOT
and again, probably more I can't recall at this time...
And now, finally... something usefull (as a result of bitog).. arx.
oil changes were between 2000 and 3500 miles, (most under 3000) since i bought it.
The engine still runs very strong.. can't complain... Even with the oil consumption that has always plagued this thing, i'm sure it will last 250+k...
I had a 1988 accord LXI... that I bought with 174,000 on it- drove it till 220,000 and traded it in on the isuzu... My oil changes on that thing, were less ideal- between 4000-6000 miles usually... and always on the cheapest stuff I could find, (exon superflo, and supertech primarily).
