Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

2004 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Long Bed 4X4 Hemi 5.7L 254,321 miles. 2nd owner. Bought it with 198,000 miles on it already. Original motor and tranny. OCI with Valvoline Maxlife Semi-Syn 10W30 @2500-4000 miles because of leaking seals. Burns 1 quart every 2500. Starting to tick.

Update on the '98 S10. Now currently has 193,900 miles on it and is now at my girlfriends work (Chevrolet dealer) getting a rear main seal, front engine cover with oil seal, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gaskets. Since the UPF52 has been discontinued I have switched over to Wix.

1993 Toyota 4x4 pickup, 4 cylinder 22R-E engine with 164,001 miles. Always on Amsoil SS 10W-30 and Amsoil filter since day 1 except a couple of times when my dealer was sick or traveling.

1998 Volvo S70 non turbo which just turned 196,000 miles...Still runs like a champ. Original Aisin M50-42AW 4 speed transmission and still shifts perfectly; fluid changes every 20,000 miles with Valvoline MaxLife ATF. Engine has been running 10w40, either Formula Shell or Pennzoil YB classic..Engine doesn't burn a drop of oil..

221k on my Fusion v6

It's the duratec 3.0

In it's early life it had a number of different 5w-20s Then I switched to M1 HM 10w-30

7500k OCI and fram ultra for the bulk of the changes

Transmission is on the way out so I bought a new car and this one is parked

2010 Volvo XC70, 3.2L and AWD. 260k miles and all paper service history since 140k miles. Zero oil consumption, tons of power (compared to many other lower mileage examples of Volvo 3.2L that I drove) and like-new interior. Seemed to get oil changes with 5w30, not sure whether synthetic or conventional, but every 3k-5k miles. Engine looks clean through the fill hole. Some sweating on the oil pan, but not enough to show a noticeable oil loss in the 5k OCIs. Currently run Mobil 1 0W40.

Got the car for $2500. Then some immediate overdue repairs followed...
$600 for a new windshield, due to Volvo not sealing the OEM windshield all the way around from factory.
$300 for alternator and intake gaskets.
$500 for new engine mounts, as all hydraulic ones failed and top torque mount was ripped completely.
Tires were all different, so to preserve the functionality of AWD got a good set for $400, plus TPMS sensors for $100.
So as it sits, the car is $4400, and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Worth every penny, wouldn't hesitate to take on any long trips. In fact will be taking it on a Charlotte-Myrtle beach-Charlotte trip, and after a couple days on a Charlotte-Charleston-Charlotte trip. Then, if no failures or "red flags", it's going to Outer Banks for some beach rides with overnight camping.

My Jeep XJ has more than 205,000mi (that's on the Odo but intermittently due to an electrical issue the dash was not counting)

I've had since 157k and it has run on a lot of different oils, mainly Valvoline Maxlife in the red bottle. Couple intervals of the full syn stuff. Some sale Magnatec blend, QSHM, and the first change on it I did was MS5K - wish I could still buy that stuff at my Wally world

My 2011 Jetta made it to 180k on 10k oil changes with Castrol 0w-40 before it was totaled with My Transit connect is at 164k miles and runs great. Transmission was replaced by Ford at 46k miles and has been trouble free since. I've ran 10k oci with a fram extra guard filter every other oci. Uses less than .5 qt of oil btwn changes usual on Castrol Edge 5W-30. I recently did the valve cover gasket, engine mount, a front wheel bearing and a new set of tires on it. It's a tough little an and most of its life was spent loaded to the ceiling with equipment and products doing construction on my days off from the fire department. My son has a roofing company and he is using it now.

Sold off the Tundra with 160+k (already forgot how many!), still have the '99 Camry with 229k and the '11 Camry with 225k (just used it to tow 1500lb). Picked up last summer an '03 CRV with 163k on the clock for my son to drive when he gets his license. 4 vehicles in my driveway and only 1 is below 150k.

My son has an '06 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4 with the V6 2.7 engine, 150K miles Burns about one quart every 3-4K miles. No timing chain rattle or odd noises. Only engine repair was an alternator bearing at about 125K miles. Vehicle starts and runs perfect. No leaks at all. I've done most of the oil changes with an assortment of 5W-30 synthetics. Transmission fluid changed once with Mobil 3309. Shifts perfectly.

I find myself occasionally trying to find one of these Vitaras, and can never find the one I need. It's either great condition, but RWD, or V6 / 4x4 and completely trashed. Can't find my ideal V6 and 4x4 Grand Vitara yet... Always liked the look and offroad performance of these, for what it is.

99 GS400, 346k miles as of the oil change last weekend. Oil is changed when I get bored...sometimes it's 5k mi, sometimes 7.5k mi. I will change it before a long road trip, otherwise whenever nothing else is going on. Never done an oil analysis as I don't care. The 1uz is plenty durable with routine maintenance & mine receives no special treatment. M1 HM 5w30 with a YZZD3 Toyota filter. Uses & leaks a qt of oil each interval...which might be reduced some when I change the front crank seal with the timing belt soon. Comfy commuter & kid hauler that packs some punch when you roll in to the throttle.

Perfect. It is barely broken in. My '88 22RE blew the headgasket... at over 400,000 miles.

2008 Acura TL with 157849 miles. Only full synthetic only changes every 5,000 miles. Usually use PP 5w20, Castrol Edge 5w20, or Valvoline Maxlife full syn 5w20.

2007 Kia Sedona 3.8L PFI engine with 240,000 miles and counting - no leaks , no oil burning and is all original ... Oil cap states to use 5W20 which I used primarily in synthetic M1 and some Pennzoil for the first 75,000 miles . Since the engine can use 5W30 , I switched to 5W30 synthetic D1 / Gen 2 oils using the 6,000 mile / 6 month rule (which ever comes first) along with Fram Ultra oil filters . Engine still runs great !

I had to chime in on this thread.. I've got a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 with about 232k miles. Considering the histories on these QR25 engines, I must have picked a solid one. Not too many folks can say that about these Nissans. Car is still running strong with no major failures experienced, yet. My brother put the first 92k on it out in California during his Navy career. I'm currently putting anywhere from 300 to 700 miles a week on the car now commuting to work. Auto tranny has been showing a slow drip, but no major motor oil seeps or leaks, maybe a few weeps though. Nearly all maintenance performed myself, oil changes have been mostly Supertech synthetic from 5 20 to 10 30 every 5 to 7k miles. I'll do an ATF drain and fill about twice a year with Maxlife. The wife and kids think it's an eye sore and want me to get rid of her but I refuse, still runs good and it's long been paid off, sorry guys she's going to stay for now. I'm shooting for 300k, but not sure I'll see it before something fails big. Next commuter will likely be a Honda or Toyota. I'll try to keep y`all updated.
