Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

06 Altima 2.5 4 cyl- 175,000 mi. OCI 3,500 w/ Mobil One 5w/30, and Mobil One filter. I keep it slightly overfilled-maybe 1/8 to 1/4 qt. I'd rather (after a long trip) have it run down to factory level, after starting out overfill, than have it start out at factory recommended level and end up low. Also it's a timing CHAIN engine-better a little extra oil to keep the chain bathed? Also 89 Camry 2 liter 4 cyl- 154,000 mi-Castrol GTX for years, just switched to Castrol semi-syn. Also Mobil One filters, also slightly overfilled (although this one's a belt), no oil burn on the Camry, only a wee bit on the Altima. BTW-transmission "flushes" on a regular basis. The body and "chassis" will be long gone and the engines and transmissions will still be strong!

How much oil does it burn? Generally not recommended to overfill, but that low amount is probably ok.

What do you use for the CVT and how often? Do you change the filters?

Those 2.5L engines are tough!

Several months ago, I was gifted an '05 Altima 2.5L with only 39k miles; needs nothing and garage kept. New tires, new CPR on the rear and just new pads and rotors on the front. I'm not afraid of the CVT, I once owned an '07 Maxima and it was great. The Altima has the 4spd and the only thing I noticed is a very firm shift from P to D and also from 1 to 2. I serviced the transmission and looks like it will need a 1-2 shift solenoid; that's all! The A/C is ice cold too! Nissan (y)

I've used Mobil 1, Valvoline, Napa, super tech, and quaker state.

I've found Quaker State to perform well for the cost. Its what they all get now.

I think you have to go for 500k now!
I'm thinking somebody's going to have to help me with wrenching on it. I have a love-hate relationship with that car you would almost have to ride with me and appreciate the sounds of taking a vehicle that has great performance name brand parts added on to it but for a model of vehicle that doesn't have a lot of aftermarket support. Some days I think about just turning it into a e15 or E85 vehicle but the aftermarket support on the 9th gen 2.4 is just not that whippy. I don't want to have to start trying to shop for parts on temu 😅
