I am thinking of switching to SuperTech synthetic due to the huge price increases on Penn Platinum and Mobil 1. I do a lot of short trip driving (3 miles or less). I pretty much stick to 5K OCI's. My main concern is fuel dilution due to the short trips. Can ST handle this regimen?

For a 5k OCI, just about anything will work, dino/blend/syn.
While fuel/moisture dilution might be a concern, a good 30 minute drive at highway speeds should take care of that(once every week or two)

I would say that syn oil isnt necessary, but if its your preference, ST syn oil should be just fine. Check it frequently, use a good quality filter, and drive....

ST synth is excellent, and with cold weather coming, will work beautifully. My next change I will use MotorCraft 5w20 semi synth mixed 50:50 with ST synth, for a nice 5w25, for my Impreza, flat four NA 2.5 for fabulous cold weather properties.

I might switch over to that...about the same price as Pennzoil YB most of the time.

Unless I find more 1.99/quart Synpower...can't pass that up.
