Their Taxi is about the same experience as what we called Limo in the US, and priced like one for their income level as well.Riding in a Japanese taxi kind of spoils the experience anywhere else.
Their police don't arrest until they are 99% sure they can convict. In the US we arrest just to give you a warning so if you are charged with evidence for another cases we can use that to stack on more time. Some people have argued that Japan doesn't charge criminals enough and cause certain harms from happening to potential victims, but due to the "if someone is bullied he probably deserves it" social opinion, they know even a careless mistake in arrest can destroy someone's life. It is a very different justice system over there (not that it is better or worse, just different).If you go to trial in Japan the jurors and judges pretty much assume the police wouldn't have arrested you if you weren't guilty.
Oh, the social opinion of someone being bullied is "he probably did something that deserves it".
