Until they get all the kinks worked out, I'll just stick to worms

This is the first I've heard of this. I like the idea of making ammo sales more mainstream. I don't know about the pricing, as the machine itself looks really high tech and expensive. I hope it works out.

We need a new nitrocellulose plant. We’ve only got a single one and it’s closing in on 90 years old. Without nitro there’s no possibility of domestically-sourced ammo…

Stop for beer...get your ammo. Stop for ammo...get your beer.
At my local gas station they sell most everything. Beer, wine, ammo, used guns, frozen food. just made ground beef and sausage, fresh made sandwiches and BP gas. They used to have hardware and sold so much the owners built a hardware store down the road.
I want to check this gas station out!

In Morrisville, VT, on bridge street, there was a liquor store, gun store, and Subway sandwich shop, all in the same building.

One stop shopping, right there…

In Cold River, VT, there's a similar business.
What's odd is that when anyone says, "...hot oil undercoating garage with a gun store", people fall to their knees and mutter, "Wow....a gun store".

I shoot, reload and like it. I can do without the awe.

We have to have a background check to buy ammo here. I will never see an ammo vending machine.
What are the laws on reloading? Can you make your own ammo in Cali? I haven't bought pistol ammo since 2009 I think, and I shot about 90k rounds since then, all own reloads, there were a few years I was shooting over 10k a year but not so much anymore. My reloading setup paid for itself after first 5k reloads, back when I started in 2009.

Yes you can last I checked. Im sure that the primers, powder etc are also heavily reguated. I believe you can only have a few oz of powder.

I dont reload.

Edit: Just found this

That's worse that Canada, we can have 165lbs (75kg) of powder on hand in their containers; if already loaded in ammo then 225kg of powder loaded in cartridges. No limits on primers.

You seem to see politics everywhere. I don't see any in this thread.
You also don’t see posts that have been deleted by a moderator, so, when a moderator posts that kind of cautionary remark, pretty good bet that there has already been a post that crossed the line.

Edit - missed dnewton3’s post above. What he said is true.

We had beer machines in the barracks @ Sheppard AFB in 77.
Always got a roll of quarters on payday.

As far as ammo goes, who buys it by the box?

Solution looking for a problem? Just gives people something to argue about even though it changes nothing? No way it can be a cost effective way to buy ammo? Numerous existing places to buy beer, bullets, and baloney in one stop?

I could see it as usefully at a grocery store or convenience store close to a popular hunting location.
