I have installed several of these 4 rail Delta Ring forends on many of my AR's. I have always trusted the models made by Midwest Industries. They are very well made, and accurately machined. Albeit a bit on the expensive side. I've never had one that didn't fit correctly. Even the long rifle length models.

I decided to take a chance, and try one of the Leapers UTG Carbine length models on my new Palmetto State Armory Carbine I just got a while back. (It came with the standard plastic vented forend). They run less than half the price of the same type and model that Midwest Industries offers.

It installed beautifully, and fit perfectly. Every bit as well as my Midwest forends. What I really like about the UTG models, is after you get them on, they come with 4 small socket head Allen screws that hold both halves together at all 4 corners, making it basically a solid, one piece unit.

They are available in all the different gas lengths. For the price I doubt you can beat it. If anyone is interested in getting one, I recommend to get the rubber coated, Delta Ring Compression tool they sell. They're not expensive, and allow you to easily compress the Delta Ring Spring, and hold it in place while you fit in the new forend.

I like the delta ring for a combat rifle. Not so much for precision rifle. I think that it would be hard to find a AR15 piece that did not fit these days.

What are you going to do with the rails?

I just like having the ability to mount lights, lasers, bipods, foregrips, ect. They make the gun more useful by having them. And you can always cover what you don't use with the literal dozens of different rail covers they offer these days.
A light is a must IMO.

Back in the day, Knights Armament supplied the military with covers for un used portions of the rails. I had issue with them sliding off, so I used hockey tape on the unused areas. Picatinny rails dont feel to good after hard use grinding against rocks.
