The Turkish Quest Continues

I gave the MAC M-2 a couple of treatments of Renaissance Wax and it really helped the finish on the Walnut. This photo of the application paper towel shows just how much dirt and excess stain it pulled from the pores of the wood.

The second application showed far less of this discoloration. The wood now has a nice smooth feel, along with a nice sheen. I can't say enough good about this Renaissance Wax. I've tried several waxes on gun stocks over the years from Birchwood Casey, Flitz, and several others. But Renaissance Wax beats them all.

If you buy any get the smallest container. It goes a long way. I'm going to give it at least 2 more coats. That should really brighten it up good. It dries to a nice texture. Not at all sticky or tacky.

I've been eyeballing this.
And one more time for good luck..... This will be the last one for awhile. This one is the Military Arms Corporation M-2. It's an exact clone of the Benelli M-2. They did a nice job with this shotgun. The Electroless Nickel finish is flawless. Wood to metal fit is very good as well.

It has the exact same ghost ring sights the M-4 has. The M-2 action is solely inertia driven, (no gas), and is a bit simpler than the A.R.G.O. gas action the M-4 has. Both have a locking rotating bolt like a centerfire rifle, that locks up like a bank vault into the barrel.

A lot stronger than the single locking tab you see on other pumps and autoloaders. Things that could be better. 1). The Turkish Walnut has nice grain and a smooth finish. But it could have had a bit better finish. I'm going to hit it with a couple good coats of Renaissance Wax today, along with a good buff job, and see if that improves things.

2). The other thing I'm not fond of is the fake magazine extension. I would have rather had the shorter magazine tube they offer without the barrel clamp. Both hold 5 rounds of 3" ammo. That's what the picture showed on Palmetto's website. But this is what they shipped. But it's certainly not a deal breaker..... Especially for the price... ($400.00 and change to my FFL).

Anyway, I'm happy with the gun overall thus far. Hopefully this weekend I'll get both the M-2 and the M-4 to the range. I'm going to Walmart this morning to grab some more high velocity 1-1/4 ounce high brass 7-1/2 shot loads to break both guns in. Then I'll see if they eat standard AA Winchester and Remington STS Trap Loads.
