You now have a STATE 11% tax on ammo sales in and to California. This is additional to sales tax. Many out of state sellers don’t want to mess with the accounting and payment

Solution looking for a problem? Just gives people something to argue about even though it changes nothing? No way it can be a cost effective way to buy ammo? Numerous existing places to buy beer, bullets, and baloney in one stop?

I could see it as usefully at a grocery store or convenience store close to a popular hunting location.
Who is "arguing" about it? If you don't like it, then walk on by and don't use it.

I used to spend my summers in upstate New York. A lot of the towns in my neck of the woods relied on small very supermarkets that were somewhere between a convenience store and an ALDI.

This would be perfect for that area. In fact, I can see this idea really doing well at a Dollar General in most of rural America.

It could also be a healthy deterrent for those who come to steal or make trouble. Chances are If they see an ammo vending machine, they may realize that some of the shoppers are armed.

All it is going to do is give people vehemently on either side of guns something else to argue about simply because it exists. Not that hard to figure that one out. The history of communication over the internet has shown that anything can and will be argued about.

I don't care if they exist or not but I think it is a stupid idea.

So what? Who cares? Let them whine about it. We shouldn't have ammo vending machines because someone might get offended? That's hilarious!

I live in a town of 12k and can buy ammo 5 places …
In a one hour radius - could not even count them …
Don’t need a vending machine …

No. All I'm saying is I don't care if someone gets bent out of shape, because people can purchase ammunition easier and more conveniently.
An argument doesn't necessarily have a negative connotation. And we are literally arguing about arguing now.

While you may not care if it makes anti gun people mad that is not the point. It has no benefit over the way ammo is purchased now other than you can get ammo in a place that doesn't have to fall into ATF regulations. The argument that will inevitably evolve out of this whether you think there should be an argument or not just gives more visibility to the issue and gives more opinions to the people that can change the rules that may have deeper impacts into things.

I.E. You don't talk about fight club......

Edited...I said the same thing about 3 times for some reason 3 times.........

It absolutely has to fall into those regulations.

It’s just like selling liquor, you absolutely have to follow federal law on that.

Since you’ve decided to turn this point into an argument, I’m gonna close the thread here.
