THE "GOOD" FRAM

IMO, being softer and more pliable would seem to make it worse, not better. That said I'm not sure if silicone ADBVs are softer and more pliable, they seem about the same softness to me. The only real difference I've found is that silicone ADBVs don't harden, and nitrile ones can.(although not all do)

It seems a lot of people are getting the wrong idea from the picture. Yes, the ADBV is hardened into place, but that's not the main problem. The problem is that it has pushed in allowing oil to bypass. The fact that it hardened only preserved the evidence. If the material didn't harden it's likely it would have snapped back into place after the oil flow stopped. Without an X-ray machine we may never know.

The point I'm trying to make is that every other ADBV in this filter application,(or similar ones) that I've seen has a thicker reinforced ADBV that does not seem to allow such a thing to happen. Material has nothing to do with it.

Got my X2's today. Got home and there was a whole covey of them on my front door step. I was sitting holding one in my living room and could seemingly already feel the increased power, hear the silky smooth (barely audible) humm of the engine and had a feeling of wealth due to gas saving. Yes, I imagine the X2's will work out quite well on my Honda.

"good Fram" Heh, thats an inherent contradiction. Frams are bad on more than a few points.

1)The "bad" ones are just plain bad quality and should not be used.

2)Their "good" filters are overpriced as those are of the quality of other, cheaper filters.

3)Frams constant "the filter is not the problem" approach to the issues that have been raised about their puke orange regular oil filters, shows that they care nothing for the concerns of their customers that care about their cars.

4)I forget what #4 was, so never mind on #4.

C'mon guys, Fram makes a filter for every addiction.

If you're cheap, get the PH.
If you have a small ego, get the TG.
If you're having Slick50 withdrawals, grab a DG.
If money is no object, XG is the only choice.
And, for those of you that are old, we have the HM filter.
