The Genesis is Gone - Farewell and Good Riddance

Avalon ended in 2022 - but could search nationwide and get delivered - or fly/Uber to buy …
Some won’t agree - but the 300/Charger platform is a good road car - we had a Charger for 7 years with ZERO issues …

I mean fine, but the BMW 5 series, which is a longer vehicle, in the xDrive package is 400lbs lighter. And BMW folks complain that it is heavy.
I'm not justifying the quality of the decision, just pointing out that it should surprise nobody that any Hyundai product is a bit heavier and has less aluminum than the equivalent competition, particularly in the premium segment.

Like you, I like the Charger (e class) platform. Had many as rental cars, and was always greatful to get one assigned as a rental.

Issue is the deprecation in a nicely loaded Charger or 300 is beyond belief. I had considered a Charger/300 purchase many times, but could not get over the mega deprecation hit.

Particularly in the premium segment, they should use lighter, stronger materials, especially in suspension parts.
Today, all manufacturers have engines that can produce a lot of power. Times of Mercedes or BMW V12 that delivered 300hp and everyone was shocked with such power, are long gone. Where the difference comes is in interior quality, feel, and suspension.
But that is why Genesis was always a budget premium option.

Yeah, you certainly buy used now … and that depreciation can work in your favor - then keep it a while …

Mercedes platform, ZF transmission. Add HEMI.

Sprung and unsprung weights - that’s the art of automotive engineering !

@Nick1994, Almost sounds like the condenser/rad fans were not up to speed (pun intended).
^^^This^^^ I had a 2002 Ram 1500 that the fan for the ac cooler when out on, twice. Each time the ac would blow cold until stopping, then hot air. I got the fan with shroud from a part's store nearby fairly cheap. It was working good when I sold it to my neighbor in 2020 at 185k miles. One of his grandsons is still driving it.

Good call. I absolutely would not want a vehicle with a temperamental AC in Phoenix that place is like the temperature of the sun.

A properly working air conditioner is a must here.

Ha, not my cup of tea either way. I can’t handle a penalty box though.

Remember that summer I drove the beater Corolla around with the A/C that barely worked? :ROFLMAO:

Still not sure what I was thinking.
