The Blizzard of 2008

Same here and we haven't had snow like this in years. Some are saying in 30 years. Just saw a grader with a V blade go down the road. At one time today I had my wife's Jeep, my Excursion, and my Kubota stuck. Jeep is still stuck, the other's are out.

Still can't plow with the Kubota. I just put it back in the garage. It's too deep and too dense.

I agree but I thought I heard that the global temperature did decrease....

I do believe in global warming though.

We got about 2-3" of snow last night. The most snow we had in 4-5 years here. It was fun sledding with the kids this morning.

Most of it melted today.

Spring returns tomorrow, high of 53F.

I don't believe it the alleged "Global" warming. It's just human vanity to think we can change the climate. Just people on top making money for themselves (again, follow the money) while pulling the heartstrings of enough people to create a 'crisis'.

A decent fraction of the land area of the world has been altered by human activity. Most of the fish in the ocean above 1 kg body mass are gone thanks to our mechanical fishing methods. We've already changed way more than just the weather. We can make deserts into farmland. We can make ocean into dry land.

Eventually, I hope to move some of this snow.

I spent a couple of weeks in Mexico last month, including a visit to Colonia Juarez (nothing to do with the border city of Juarez) about 150 miles south of the US border in the eastern foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains. Colonia Juarez is the Mexican Mormon settlement where Mitt Romney's father was born. The gentleman showing us around town was a Mr Hatch, a distant cousin of Orin Hatch.

That area is a major apple growing area at about 4000 to 5000 feet elevation. Many of the growers are changing over to peach growing after close to 100 years of apple growing because the winters are no longer cold enough for reliable apple production.

Humanity has an impressive record of turning farmland into deserts too.

We got a dusting at my house on Friday night. It never snows here anymore, so my kids thought the dusting of snow was pretty neat. It was all gone by afternoon. Here's a pic:
