Acclimating to colder weather?

I didn’t bother putting away the snow brush this year.

the older you age ,the more you notice and dread the winters, the only solution is dress appropriately for the existing conditions , and stay warm & being active helps along with a positive attitude. Frost bite is nothing to sneeze at.

I've lived in cold winter areas my whole life. There are two important things you need to get used to the cold. Appropriate clothing and the correct attitude. I have a bad attitude about cold weather, but if I need to be in it, I know how to stay warm.
My kids can’t hear me swearing at the weather over the sound of a snowblower… or from beneath 4 layers because the wind chill is pushing -30F or colder 😂

The Parka goes on at 40 F and the toque goes on at 20 F. See you next spring. By the way, the good folks in Fort St. John say hi.
40*, I might grab a sweatshirt.
Working outside in all kinds of weather has acclimated me to cold pretty easily. Learned a few tricks though, like eat spicy food or something else to raise your internal thermic temp. If you're skinny, try eating at McDs every so often, as a little more fat is good insulation. Exercise to raise metabolism always makes you warm inside too. I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt all the time inside as I'm pretty tolerant to temperature. Try a heavy weight t-shirt and some of the heavier weight shorts that are basically sweatpants with the legs cut down.
One of those Monster/Red Dog/whatever drinks will have me sweating, even at -40*. Like steam pouring off my head and hands.

Guess it throws a few more logs in the fire or something.

If I'm worn out tired or getting sick I can usually tell because I can't get warm. Like not even that cold, maybe 10* and I'll be shivering.
