I find it's the classic story of plastic surgery. Just look at the difference between the Shannon Tweed of old and what the surgery did to her. It destroys the natural contours, creating a harsh transition between the various muscular structures of the face.

Yep, they are better off just leaving things alone. I don't think Heather Locklear has done much (if any) plastic surgery, as she still looks pretty amazing for her age! (she'll be 50 this year!!)

What is with all those Heathers? I notice again cheek implants. I also see horrible Photoshop on her face. How old is that photo? Over ten years, I bet.

Here's her mugshot from an arrest a while ago: http://images.eonline.com/eol_images/Entire_Site/20080928/300.locklear.mugshot.092808.jpg

Now it gets really creepy. Check out Locklear's changing face. Her face looks like ham that's been been injected with water for plumpness:

I remember when Montgomery Wards was still big, but that was probably late seventies....

That's what I remember in the 80's, Montgomery Wards having a big store at the mall just like Sears and JcPenney's.

Same plastic surgeon as Micheal Jackson and the lead singer of Dead or Alive?

Plastic Surgery Disasters is not just a 1982 album by The Dead Kennedys

Oh yeah, the 80's. I'm fond on of the decade.

Just some thoughts and random memories that come to mind for me...

Watching the 'good' cartoons with the original voices...
The Peanuts (especaially the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials)
The REAL Warner Bros. Looney Toons
Garfield

Drinking Gatorade for the first time out of a can.

Trading 'grip tape' for scateboards at school.

Got my first BMX Schwinn bike for my birthday.

Rocking 'Gotcha' & 'Ocean Pacific' shirts with Vission shoes.

Listening to Poison, Def Leperd, Winger, White Snake, Hewey Lewis and the News.

T-tops in Camaros (Really, really wanted an '87 Yellow IROC Camaro)

My mom having a fit over spending $100 at the grocery store (we only went once a month!)

My gramps getting a full box of Chattanooga Chew every year at the tractor pull FREE when we went through the gate. (And him giving me a pouch, I was 8)

President Reagan. Miss him.

Sleeping through Hurricane Hugo(lived right outside of Charlotte, NC)

NC State vs. UNC used to be the 'big game' in regular season ACC basketball.

The Atlanta Braves were horible.

Communism was bad.

Michael Jackson's Thriller, Bad videos. His Pepsi Commercial.

Tom Cruise and Top Gun.

Sorry I am rambling now.

Great decade!

I remember the 1980's. Hours of Atari (2600). First time attending school in the US and getting made fun of because I was wearing leather sandals. I remember my Adidas.

Walk this Way....It takes two....funky cold Medina....Making mix tapes.

Drinking a Miller High Life as first beer with my grandpa.

Everyone driving Subaru 4wd wagons where I lived, including myself a 1982. My parents had an AMC Eagle maroon with shelf liner wood sticker along the side.

Fearing nuclear war. Confused about Russians.

Some places in the world still like big hair on women. If you look on YouTube and watch Azra Akin videos, she has magnificent hair. She was Miss World in 2002, and is from Turkey. I wish those styles came back to the West, especially to the USA.

The 1970's to 1980's had the best music, in general, of any era in the Western world. It was the culmination of the 1955 to 1980 era. Great performers like the Korgis (Everybody's Got To learn Sometime), Charlie Pride, and Kate Bush have faded out. Starting in the 1990's music went into a decline and now new popular music is just awful. It was about 2003 that good music started to dry up. "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay was the last good song I heard and that was in 2008. Others were "Babylon" by David Grey in around 2002, "Sad Eyes" covered by Springsteen as well as Igelias, and "Someday" by Sugar Ray---this last one in the last days of the 1990s.

I do not know what went on in society, but the youth these days listen to nonsense.

I remember some of the movies from the 80's like "the goonies" and others. Remember my aunt on moms side telling me about for long time that SCHLITZ beer was so big till like late 80's early to mid 90's also. Now she drinks MILWAUKEES BEST. Anyone remember the ICE beers (like Milwaukees Best Ice and BUD ICE?

adam

"Ice brewed" beers didn't go anywhere, at least not here. Every gas station and grocery store around here always has Bud Ice, Natural Ice, and Icehouse. It's unusual to see a store that sells beer that doesn't have at least five brands of the stuff. There's even imported stuff like Molson Ice.

Schlitz was off the market for a while I recall, but it has been back for a few years. Usually it's in a can and it's dirt cheap.

If I had to name one negative 80's icon it would probably be T-tops in GM cars, especially Trans-Camaros and Olds Cutlasses. Purely an individual thing, but that is what we are talking about.

Anyone here remember the advertising slogans from the 80's? What ever happened to EARL SHEIB paint job business? Still around? Yeah, Schlitz is around in the Punxsy area, but not many places as never tried Schlitz beer, dont know if I want to. Anyone remember when and where "AWESOME BILL FROM DAWSONVILLE" Bill Elliot qualified at over 200 mph?

the 70's & 80's had great game shows, too.

Match Game
Family Feud
Joker's Wild
Tic-Tac-Dough
Card Sharks

The Game Show Network rarely plays these classics any more. Sad

I haven't googled it yet and promise not to... but I'll go out on a limb and say Atlanta Motor Speedway in '86? The Red Coors #9 car right? I should know the car owner's name since he prepped Ford's cars during the late 60's-early 70's Trans Am series...it just escapes me right now.

GSN shows TWO HOURS of Match Game every weekday, an hour each at 8am ET/7am CT and 11am ET/10am CT. An episode of Family Feud, with Richard Dawson hosting, follows the early broadcast at 9am ET/8am CT. Then there is an episode of Card Sharks at 10am ET/9am CT, which is followed by The $25,000 Pyramid with **** Clark. There is even another hour of Card Sharks at 3am ET/2am CT. Enjoy!

Anyone remember the other game show "press your luck"? I vividly remember a dating game show also where they would have the one person hiding in the back listening and at the end of the segment bring that person out.

Yep, I remember Press Your Luck well. Everyone trying to avoid the little "Whammy" bugger. The host, Peter Tomarken, was a truly great guy. He and his wife were killed in a plane crash while en route to pick up a patient as part of the volunteer Angel Flight program. The engine failed in his own aircraft, causing them to crash into the ocean. An ending that came far too soon.

Oh, about the dating show, it wasn't exactly as you describe it, but I think you may be referring to Love Connection. It was hosted by Chuck Woolery and had a person on-stage who was introduced to three potential dates, via video. The studio audience would pick the date they thought would be best. If the on-stage guest accepted the choice, the date would be paid for by the show. Afterwards, they would come back and discuss what happened, good or bad. If they were both happy with the date, Chuck would then invite the date that had only been seen via video to join them on the stage.

Does that sound like what you're thinking of?
