Couldn't have been that big, never heard of them...

I remember lots of bands, and lots of one hit wonders, from my college days, when a bud was an FM DJ, but...

"Rock you like a hurricane" by the Scorpions, If you haven't heard at least parts of that song.......I envy you!

There were so many great metal bands in the 80s! In fact, when I'm driving my Corvette I listen almost exclusively to XM station 39, Hair Nation, which plays all of those bands! There are so many good ones I'd be here all night listing them

And, after a bit of Googling, turns out that Europe played "Final Countdown" - another earworm that I could've lived without...

Not actually the 80's (1991) but:

For whom the bell tolls!!!! One of the largest concerts ever (Moscow). Metallica's heyday.

As I was a kid in the 1980's I didn't really know what great music came out of that era until I got Satellite radio for my Santa Fe. I have had Satellite radio since and although I like music from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and now. I really like the 1980's the best.

Fleetwood Mac

Recently saw a Fleetwood Mac reunion concert from 1997 on PBS. It was awesome.

Hopefully you were lucky to watch some great shows at the Hollywood Sportatorium before it was torn down in the early 90's.

1/4 mile drag strip , Hollywood Speedway was right next door and also got torn down, now it's all houses and the Sportatorium is now a Sedanos Supermarket.

I was a little into the LA punk movement, then went into electronic instrumental music.
Watched new wave theater. Listened to college stations (with a lot of static, the signals were low power).
Nobody called each other until after 11pm, because that's when the cheap phone calls were.
