The 2011 Corolla is very handsome.

Initially, I was appalled by the 2011 refresh. I've always thought the 2009/2010 Corolla was perfect (styling wise) but the 2011 refresh is definitely growing on me. It looks more luxurious on the outside. The rear has a Lexus look about it. The interior is still bare-bones and hard-econo-cheap.

The rear now has a LS460 resemblance:

The wheels are a slight improvement too:

In light of the MUCH MUCH improved competition from Hundai, Ford, and Mazda, I can't recommend the Corolla over these cars but styling wise, I can't find fault with this 2011 refresh.

I was thinking Whirlpool, but you get the idea.

I've rented a base Corolla with an automatic and a dishwasher is more fun. A Corolla S with a manual is actually entertaining somewhat.

It looks like a Mazda6 from the side and back. The front looks like the 09/10 Corolla to me.

They should just add dual exhaust to it. Everything else seems to have it.

+1. The front end amongst other areas is too bulky. Poor MPGs, neither exciting or that great. Jack of all trades master of none.

It may be an OK driving appliance, but Id likely buy a good used one first.

Wait a minute! Everyone is missing the main points of purchasing a Corolla; exceptional fuel mileage and excellent reliability. The Corolla was never designed to be a car with strong visual appeals. It was designed for those people who want a very practical car. Personally, I would rather spend my $20 per week in fuel and drive my bland Corolla than a 2011 Lamborghini that costs $100 per week in gas!

The Corolla is, at least in my humble opinion, the finest automobile ever made. I would buy a 2011 in a instant, but my current Corolla will probably never die so I am content driving it.

OP is right about cheap interior plastics. The previous generations were much better in that respect.
