Yeah but it's not a direct comparison. Comparing a small EV with luxury gasoline.
I do find it interesting and I think another year will give an indication but since the time of that chart. Growth has come down far more than expected for Tesla.
I wonder what will happen as its competition in the EV space heats up? The signs are already there. They do in my mind have one edge, you dont have to deal with a dealer the other side of that sword is getting service.
These other companies have a leg up because they manufacture all types of fuel vehicles however this is a direct EV to EV comparison.

Cox automotive group does good job of compiling sales data outside of the manufacturers themselves.
For a long time there were no direct EV comparisons, but with everyone in the game we see these EV-EV comparisons now.
At the time the posts went up anyone could go to goodcarbad car and see the context the charts were created in and how they were segmented and lots of links got posted to these.
The conversations have shifted over the years as the market has shifted, but out of market/segment comparisons still get make for the sake of discussions.
Most of these comparisons started with "Telsa will never........" then all kinds of comparisons to all manufacturers started to get thrown about to gauge what success does or doesn't look like.
An example of this type of changing discussion went like this.
Telsa is going out of business.
Ok Tesla is doing OK, but the Model 3 will
never outsell the BMW 3 series.
Ok The Model 3 is out selling thing the 3 series, but it will never compete with the M3.
Ok the Model 3 performance is a pretty decent car, but Tesla will never outsell BMW on the whole.
Ok the model 3 is almost outselling all of BMW in N America by itself.
OK Teslas few cars are outselling BMW whole lineup in the US, but they will never be as (pick your descriptor)
We've been hearing about the coming slaughter longer than we've been hearing about the coming metric system, killer bees, fire ants, and fusion.
I'm glad there is competition, competition gives us all choice ad pushes manufacturers to give us a better product.
