The point that I was trying to make is that the engineers who designed and built those engines decided, for whatever reason, to go with Mobil over ALL the other manufacturers combined.

I seriously doubt the engineers had anything to do with the decision to factory fill M1. M1, more than likely, paid at least some of those manufacturers to FF and put a nice little sticker on the oil cap.

Mobil1 pays to have their oil in certain vehicles as factory fill is what i was told by the service manager at a dodge dealer by my house. He was told this when doing service training on the new viper. At least dodge gets paid by mobil.
ferrarafan...come on!

Oh, well if the head mechanic, I mean service manager,of a dealership told you that then it must be true.I can see no reason to question his wisdom whatsoever. It would probably be a waste of time to actually contact Dodge's corporate headquarters to verify this information since it came from such a reliable source as the service manager.

It's not a matter of him being a liar. He isn't.So much misinformation gets posted here as fact based on what somebody heard from somebody who heard from somebody who heard from somebody.etc.So what if Mobil pays Dodge to use their product, if in fact it's true. What does that prove? Ask him how many Vipers have been towed to the dealership with blown engines caused by Mobil 1.Ask a Chevy service manager the same thing about the Corvettes and others that come with Mobil 1 as the factory fill.

Your going to get too many opionions on this matter. I always say use what works for you, get some uoa's done on some oil then go from there. Im using amsoil series 3K in my 3.4L tacoma but i dont have any uoas done on it yet all i know is my truck likes the thicker oils.

I've known the guy for 20 years. If he's lying it will be the first i know of.

Your not even 20 years old.

BTW is this the same guy? "but somebody told me the pure1 for my car flows very poorly" so you are fretting about using them now?

""Are we there yet"?

Be careful tenderloin your going to end up on somebodies list and make them bang their head in frustration because you don't agree.
