Synthetic Oil Bad For Low Mileage Engines

I wonder if it's from people running these engines 15-20K+ mile oci's on synthetics thinking they don't need to change the oil, hence getting varnish? Who knows!

OP has yet to respond or post link. Not a great sign this was a genuine query.

Maybe he'll do so today?

I won’t call anyone a liar but man someone has been misinformed badly. I don’t know of any new cars that don’t require synthetic oil. So their is no way it could crystallize. I’ve never seen it crystallize whether it be high mileage or low mileage or whatever. Deboss Garage I haven’t heard him say anything like that but also been awhile since I watched his videos.

I follow Occams Razor when it comes to YouTube. A guy I race and ride bikes with is a CFO for a relatively small O&G exploration/energy services company. To give a perspective on scale in that industry amount they’re saving just on utilities from COVID (since their offices only have essential staff) on just one of their campuses in Houston is over 7 figures.

The companies that make engine oils and Auto Manufacturers are significantly larger than this company so I’d guess they’d have the tools and knowledge to not make such a supposed school boy error in putting supposedly bad/damaging synthetic oil on brand new engines as factory fill.

YouTube is great for explaining how to tear down things when it comes to chemical engineering I struggle to believe a dude in his garage finding something outrageous or novel.

Well that’s good. I’m glad to know they fully haven’t switched over yet. So that must mean none of those are 0W either yet because that’s all synthetic.
Wrong again, Pennzoil and Valvoline both make synthetic blend 0W-20 oils and at one time Honda offered it under their name.

Which manufacturers require a particular winter rating? Nearly all are grade recommendations not requirements. I haven’t seen any that have base stock requirements as such, some may have an approval requirement that can only be met with certain base stocks but that’s not written into the approval.

Yeah I know. He said his cars didn’t require synthetic so since 0W is synthetic or synthetic blend so that must mean it’s not required like it is in most cars or at least recommended for that.

I know so does Castrol but still that’s part synthetic I haven’t ever seen a car requiring synthetic blend so that’s why I said that.
So why did you say "So that must mean none of those are 0W either yet because that’s all synthetic." when it isn't accurate?
