Synthetic Base Stocks

In the UOA section, Blackstone seems to say that certain additives, gas contamination, and some synthetic base stocks can wear away the babbitt on the bearings and thus shorten engine life. If this is true then which base stocks would that be? PAO? Ester?

Nothing you'll find in a fully formulated motor oil that meets the current API sequence tests or the comparable European requirements.
