So right now I'm running a short oci. To clean engine in my 92 Chevy pickup. After this process which i do on any used car . Would you run Dino or sun its got 207k and I plan on getting double that . What would you personally use? It has Valvoline conventional right now. Thanks guys

She may be old but its my new baby. And its in good shape. Generally a daily driver some light hauling it'll see heavier use in the summer. Ill change the oil every 3-5000 thousand. And I always do it to every vehicle. Looking in the oil fill hole shows that its not to bad. I want it to last as long as possible and don't mind taking the effort to get it there.

3-5k oci on syn would be a waste. I know your a fan of valvoline and it would be hard for you to want to switch. With that many miles get one of the best HM oils out there. Maxlife 5w30. It has a decent add pack and will help stop any consumption or leak and keep it nice and clean. However mobil super hm and QS defy have a great add pack for about $4-5 cheaper per 5qt jug. All are a syn blend.

So far it hasn't used or leaked a drop of oil . I'm pretty confident that it won't either. I mean maybe half a quart in 5000 but that doesn't worry me. He ran pennzoil before i bought it and changed it every 3000 had reciepts to prove it but the engine didn't look real clean through the fill hole. Didn't look sludged up just varnished I guess. I want it to be very clean. So you guys seem like you would run maxlife over regular Dino. Good thing theres a sale right now

and yea I lean towards Valvoline over anything else. Every engine I see with Valvoline that's been maintenanced is always spotless that's good enough proof for me.

Yea, stick with Valvoline then. I was going to say PYB as it looks to have a more robust additive pack, but you choose!

I like Pennzoil to my Saturn runs it . Well did now I'm adopting the motto of screw it I'm just going to get what's cheap and add to it and never change the oil again. LOL. But I do prefer Valvoline.

Use whatever 10w30 oil change special you can get on sale for under $20.

Its an old lose 4.3 any oil that's slippery will work fine.
