In regards to my Nissan Pathfinder, at present I'm using the Amsoil ATF. If I switch over to Motul ATF, do I need to flush out the Amsoil ATF or just do a transmission pan and filter dump and add back with Motul ATF? I flushed out the old transmission fluid 2-3 years ago and I change the fluid and filter every 10-12k miles.

All similar spec fluids can be mixed. So, the pan drop is plenty. But, if you have a drainplug, use it and avoid the messy pan drop.

A bigger ATF cooler and inline filter will allow you to run those expensive synthetic ATFs longer.

Nissan filters should last longer then 10k-12k miles. Dissect it and you'll see why. Most are just bug catcher strainer screens. Change it every 60k or more miles.
