SUV driver runs over bikers

Right, it is a riskier choice, just like choosing to walk across a street rather than calling a cab. But despite whatever risk you might assume, it's not your fault if somebody runs a red light and takes you out in the crosswalk. To imply that you should assume responsibility for somebody else's transgression because you took on a reasonable level of risk is kind of ridiculous.

Came across wrong. There is high risk in riding motorcycles in terms of an accident and level of injury. Vehicle accidents are a daily occurrence but consequences are not as grave or so life threatening in trucks and cars.

No one deserves anything but you increase the risk in riding one. I believe the death rate per mile is something like 30 times more likely to be killed on motorcycle vs car.

I still miss my friend.

Because we cannot tell apart which MC riders are normal and which ones are jerks/thugs/retards during daily driving, based on the observations here in general, and because about 95% of loud wannabe stunt'street' bikers that I have personally seen on road ride in an extremely arrogant, and unlawful manner, I think to be on the safe side, it wouldn't hurt to assume that any bikers in a group one sees on the road (not the true, lawful biker groups, but the ones that ride dangerously) ARE like these ones on the video and take precautionary measures and avoid them if possible and be prepared to call cops at the SLIGHTEST sign of trouble or any intimidating behavior like tailgating / brake checking and that sort of nonsense. From now on, as soon as I see signs of retarded biking behavior I will notify cops immediately.

I saw video this morning of the biker who opened the door saying he did it to take the keys so the SUV driver could not hurt anyone else. Another biker whos bike got bumped was playing the victim also. Ridiculous!

That is so much more practical and less confrontational than simply moving away from him......

I'm sure they slashed his tires, broke his windows, and slashed his face, all to keep the public safe.

Wow.

Just wow.

They must have found the dumbest one (not in a coma) to interview.

As to the hospitalized criminal, the Boston Herald, reports, in part:

"Edwin Mieses, 32, never got a driver’s license in the Bay State, the Registry of Motor Vehicles said, but he was frequently nabbed behind the wheel, and even sentenced to jail for driving without a license, court records show. Mieses has a pending case out of Lawrence District Court for driving suspended, subsequent offense, said Carrie Kimball Monihan, spokeswoman for the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. Mieses also has 15 guilty findings for criminal offenses including distribution of cocaine, possession of a firearm without a permit, knowingly receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and several motor vehicle violations, court records show."

I will be shocked if this is anything other than typical for the members of that gang.

If they can ever be identified, a big if - they'll probably have to lean hard on the ones they've caught - parole violations could probably put most of them back behind bars in a pretty summary fashion.

But they'll just get out again and go back to doing what they do.

Nice 'good samaritan' - (That's what his wife is touting him as on the FB page she made for asking for donations).

Like already said, there's a huge probability that the above description/record fits 90% or all of the gang.

hope she is doing it pro bono,,,if it goes to civil trial which it will jury included she will lose big time. Doesn't matter to her one bit if she loses anyway. Her goal is to be in front of the camera on the five 0'clock news.

Bloomberg will happily take your big gulp away, but he'll let a gang of documented criminals and unlicensed dirt bike riders run rampant all over NY City.

I assumed all of the trouble in NYC was taken care of when they decided 20 OZ sodas were a problem. I guess not.

I ride motorcycles. Trust me, the idiots in this video are not representative of most bikers. be very careful when you make sweeping generalizations.

I have a concealed carry permit. Sometimes in the summer, I carry a 5 shot revolver. Watching this really makes me reconsider that.

it's bloomberg's fault some people acted like [censored] on motorcycles.
will the fox news geezers ever die?

I think this pretty conclusively shows that these punks aren't the innocent victims that they and their ambulance-chasing lawyers are desperately trying to portray them as.

In fact, they are blatantly lying about what took place. Fortunately, Video doesn't lie.
