I know that Supertechs are bang for your buck, but what about the quality control. I just went to walmart today and picked up 5 ST4967, corolla/camry oil filters and 2 out of 5 Oil filters had a deform or unproperly cut "Anti Drain Back valve", I could even see it with a flashlight. I then stuck my finger inside and felt around and it felt like it was just not cut properly.

And look at the SAE test, what they put on the box is better than other brands.

SAEtest, supertech has 98% eff for HS806 while here's Amsoil's reports

http://www.pecuniary.com/newsletters/microns.html

and 99% for J1858 compare that to Pureone Purolator

What does every one make of this.

As for SuperTech filters, I like them and use them. I think they are the best all around filters you can get, even irrespective of price.

I don't know what to make of your observations about the anti-drainback valve. I'm not so sure that looking at the valve through the inlet holes tells you very much about its functionality. As to what you feel by sticking your finger in the center hole, all that you can really feel of the valve is that part that acts as the seal against the metal endcap of the filter element itself.

Hmm.. well the valve was not uniform, sorta like a doughnut with a Big tumor on one side. I'll try to get a pic.

Anyways..I got this from Champ labs..!!

We do not have test data on the efficiency at 10-15 microns. They do have
a nominal rating, (50% efficiency), at 20 microns on a multi-pass test.

Thank you.

Compare that to Champ's Mobil 1 filter which is absolute (98.5%) @ 20 micron and 75% @ 10 micron. And, we all agree, we don't know how fine is fine enough.
