just bought some hd-30 supertech from wally world for my ariens lawn tractor for about 2.69 a quart. it was half the price of castrol hd, and a third of the price of penzoil hd 30 at oriellys( walmarts in my area only carry accel, supertech, and castrol in straight weight.). while im sure the latter are better, i doubt if they are 2 - 3x better.

i noticed the supertech was in the " mobil -style" bottle, so i assume is using mobil basestock and not warren like they did in the past???? can anyone clarify this?? i can post a pic of the bottle if needed when i get home to the pc.

Im a mobil/ pennzoil fanboy is why im curious, i am impressed with the mobil "super" line of oil, for the price its great for a non performance , non hauling/ towing vehicle.

its a briggs and stratton motor intek motor 19.5 hp fyi.

Some parts of the country does have XOM Supertech oil. Some parts of the country even have Shell made Supertech. The shape of the jugs or bottles is usually a good sign.

SuperTech has been either WPP or Mobil depending on where you are located. All your supertech might be Mobil, or it might vary by grade.

Should be a good fit for your tractor.

looks like a wolf in sheep's clothing to me , straight 30 weight mobil super 5000 lol. no warren stamps on these bad boys, and i doubt that mobil would give them permission to use thier bottles without thier product in it. don't judge me, but ill keep drinking that kool-aid because i will sleep better knowing i got to put a xom oil in the tractor on the cheap

Check out Walmart's MSDS site.

According to their MSDS, the HD 30 is indeed supplied by Exxon Mobil.
Interestingly, all grades of Super Tech Full Synthetic list "Specialty Oil Company" as the supplier, with the same Houston PO box as SOPUS and Jiffy Lube.
Hmm...
