Sub Inflation

Also...and I should have taken a pic. I was making a batch of dog food with green beans, opened two cans, one from Walmart and the other from Shoprite. Both cans marked 14.5 oz. The Walmart can had about 15% less beans than the other. They are using water to make up the weight.

I read an article recently that restaurants are going out of business in record numbers...I guess the 40 year high inflation is taking away 'discretionary spending' for many Americans.

For the last 2-3 years I maybe went to a restaurant 2-3 times the most and mostly when friends are visiting from out of state.

Often on the weekends I pass by a local restaurant I used to go and they have a huge parking lot. Recently the parking lot is a 1/4 or 1/3 full.
A couple of years ago it used to be packed on both San and Sun.

We cook at home every week and even 2-3 times a week. $50 per person for a meal + a couple of drink in a local average restaurant is unnecessary expense.

My $8.50 sub of a couple years ago is now $13.00 and they shrunk the length of it and then dont fill it up as much. Use to be each half was a satisfying meal. Now the I have to eat the entire sub to for a satisfying meal.

I've cut back big time on the number of times I purches there.

Someone please show me the math about how this adds up to 2.5% inflation that we are told about.

Utilities price increases also don't add up. They say the gas or electric or water or sewage, is going to go up a certain percent, then the other items in that same bill associated with distribution go up a heck of a lot more the the percent of increass of the main item, and they make up the majority of the bill.

Full price for subs up here are pretty ridiculous now. I rarely ever buy one at full price, I wait for the special deals on the apps. Whenever Firehouse Subs has their half price specials I’m all over that! 😋
I had a couple of their subs this week because they have been running their 12 days of Christmas deals. I can’t wait to see what the deal is for day 12! Those deals are always the best ones 😃🤩

I just eat at the Costco food court now, mine are both in university. Saving money, but paying for it with my health; just like @Patman. :ROFLMAO:
